Rating

Assessment

Moldova is rated Inadequate. Its pledge of 25% reduction from 1990 to 2020 would lead to emissions above the business as usual scenario provided by Moldova. Moldova's emissions today are 75% lower than 1990. According to its own projections, emissions will double until 2020. It will ask for new tradable allowances ("hot air") of the magnitude of its current emissions. If Moldova pledged to keep its emissions not above BAU it could be rated Medium.
