Summary

Thailand does not have a net zero target. However, the Thai government is developing a long-term Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy to help the country reach carbon neutrality (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, 2020b). The draft is expected to be presented at the COP26 in November 2021 and should contain a peak target, as well as annual emissions reduction targets (Praiwan, 2021).

For further information on the targets Thailand has adopted, see the targets tab.

Good practice

The Climate Action Tracker has defined the following good practice for all ten key elements of net zero targets. Countries can refer to this good practice to design or enhance their net zero targets.
